About

Dr. Francisco Moura Neto

Neurosurgeon (CRM-PB 11807 · RQE 10030) whose practice is dedicated to spine surgery, especially scoliosis and spinal deformities in children, adolescents and adults.

He works as a preceptor in the training of other surgeons and presents cases at national and international meetings. Each case is assessed individually: surgery is recommended when it brings real benefit, and patients are guided through every step, from the first visit to recovery.

Areas of practice

What I treat

Scoliosis

Adolescent idiopathic, congenital, neuromuscular and adult degenerative scoliosis — from observation and bracing to surgical correction.

Early-onset scoliosis

Growth-friendly surgery with the Miladi bipolar technique, learned during my fellowship at Hôpital Necker, Paris.

Adult spinal deformity

Sagittal imbalance, kyphosis and revision surgery, planned from each patient’s spinopelvic parameters.

Disc herniation and spinal stenosis

Cervical and lumbar. Conservative care whenever possible; microsurgery or fusion when clearly indicated.

Minimally invasive spine surgery

Oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF), endoscopy and percutaneous procedures for pain and fractures.

Functional neurosurgery and headache

Essential tremor, trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm (neurovascular conflict), and migraine care.

For colleagues and industry

OLIF consultant and anatomy course for spine surgeons

I am a consultant for the OLIF technique (oblique lateral interbody fusion) and teach an anatomy course designed for spine surgeons who are adopting the approach.

OLIF allows larger, more lordotic cages to restore sagittal alignment, with less blood loss, less postoperative pain and a shorter hospital stay than traditional open techniques.

For course dates, case discussions or proctoring, please get in touch by email.
